Mr Andrew Fitzgerald is a specialist hand and wrist surgeon with over 15 years’ experience at consultant level based at Trafford General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary. He worked as the sole specialist hand and wrist surgeon covering all aspects of hand and wrist surgery including trauma.
Mr Fitzgerald qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1989. He completed his basic surgical training on the Westminster Surgical training programme. His specialist orthopaedic training was on The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Training programme including specialist training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and in the Congenital Hand and Nerve Injury Unit at the RNOH. He has been on the orthopaedic specialist register since 2001.
He currently works in full-time private practice and also for Manchester Surgical Services based at Trafford General Hospital. He continues to maintain an interest in medical education and teaching. He is a current active member of the BOA and BASS.
He is married with 3 children and is a qualified FA coach and has been involved in football coaching for over 10 years at junior level.
