Safeguarding for NHS Providers: Protecting Patients and Vulnerable Individuals​

What is Safeguarding?​​

Safeguarding is the process of protecting people’s health, well-being, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. It applies to everyone, particularly children, vulnerable adults, and individuals at risk due to age, disability, or other circumstances.​

Our Commitment to Safeguarding​

We are committed to safeguarding all individuals who use our healthcare services. This involves:​

• Preventing harm and abuse.​
• Identifying and responding to risks.​
• Supporting individuals who have experienced harm.​
• Working in partnership with other agencies such as social services, the police, and charities to ensure the safety of vulnerable individuals.​

Confidentiality and Support​

All safeguarding concerns are handled with sensitivity and confidentiality. We will only share information with relevant authorities when it is necessary to protect someone from harm. Support services are available to help individuals who have experienced abuse, offering medical care, psychological support, and legal advice where appropriate.​

Working Together for a Safer Community​

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and everyone has a role to play in protecting vulnerable individuals. We work closely with patients, families, carers, and community partners to promote a safe and caring environment for all.​
