Fair Process Notice

At Manchester Surgical Services (MSS), we are committed to upholding your information needs, privacy, and legal rights. Like all health care providers, we need to collect personal data about you to deliver the best possible care, treatment, and clinical outcome; this is our lawful purpose.

Whenever we collect personal data from you, we will always confirm:

Why we need to collect your data
How we intend to use your data
How the data will be kept secure
Who the data will be shared with
How you can access your own records
Who might we share your information with

MSS works in partnership with several NHS and independent healthcare providers who provide streamlined joined-up services for patients. This requires MSS to routinely pass information onto third parties where there is a genuine need for it and when patient consent has been provided.

A request for access to your personal data is called a Subject Access Request.

All written subject access requests must:

Contain proof of ID
Provide a clear explanation of the information required and relevant contact details

MSS will process all requests within the statutory timescale of 30 calendar days or sooner, where possible.

Information Commissioner’s Office

Should you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of any information governance aspect concerning MSS you can pursue your complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The ICO is the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.
