What is a Quality Account
Organisations providing NHS-funded care are required under the Health and Social Care Act 2012[1] to produce a Quality Account each year if they deliver services under an NHS Standard Contract, have staff numbers over 50, and have NHS income greater than £130k per annum. The purpose of a quality account is to strengthen healthcare providers’ board-level accountability for quality and place the reporting of this on an equal footing with financial reporting. Quality Accounts are both retrospective and forward-looking.
Manchester Surgical Services (MSS) has produced an account for the year 2024-2025 and has met the required thresholds. MSS is proud to publish our quality priorities, identify areas for improvement and celebrate what we have achieved.
